Safe drinking water is highly important in terms of sustaining life. It is a basic need for all life and without it, we cannot exist. It is so important for a county to have a supply of clean water to drink, otherwise a variety of health issues can arise. Without clean drinking water, not only will disease spread, but whole ecosystems can be completely destoryed. It is absolutely essential for policies to be created to preserve clean drinking water for the populations.
Many countries do not have access to clean drinking water. In my travels, I have to be aware of the drinking water and what I am putting into my body. I am going to Pakistan in the two weeks and a huge issue they have in the country is not having clean water; or water that only people who are born and raised in Pakistan are accustomed to. You must be careful when you go there and drink the water. Most foreigners of the country have to drink bottled water because the tap water is not safe since different microorganisms inhabit the water supply that would be in America. It is absolutely essential when I travel I am aware of safe drinking water and take the proper precautions to ensure I am safe.
Hi Snay,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with you safe drinking water is highly important and is a basic need that everyone should be entitled to. I've traveled to India on several occasions and I'm so grateful that I have access to filtered bottle water. When I was younger I would attempt to drink water from the tap or the well in our house and I would fall ill immediately. Global policies should mandate clean water for everyone.
Hi Snay,
ReplyDeleteThanks fro sharing! In addition to drinking, I agree that having access to a safe supply of water has additional importance in regards to public health. Just as you mention with your travel experience, I too am traveling to Mexico in about two weeks. I've been traveling to this area for most of my life and I'm used to the tap water, but I also recognize that this isn't the case for all who travel. Even though people in different geographic areas grow resistance and are more able to drink local waters, this doesn't necessarily mean they are safer. I think this is the case with the water in the U.S. As in other countries, safe drinking water isn't always accessible via tap sources. However, we have grown used to the "good chemicals" that clean our waters. However, I'd like to acknowledge that this doesn't necessarily make them safer. Maybe they are safer in the short-term, nut it is in the long-term when we begin to see health issues.
